At AI Organizer, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Chrome Extension.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Authentication Data

When you sign in to AI Organizer, we store account data needed to operate your library, including your user ID, email address, profile preferences, subscription status, and billing email. We do not store your Google or YouTube password.

1.2 Usage Data

We may collect usage and operational data, including:

  • Extension activation, save, search, and summary request events
  • Feature usage counts, usage limits, and billing entitlement status
  • Error reports, job status, and bounded operational logs

1.3 Local Storage

AI Organizer stores data locally in your browser, including:

  • Your extension authentication session
  • Your Side Panel settings and preferences
  • Temporary save, transcript retry, and UI state used by the extension

This local data is used to operate the Chrome Extension and keep your experience consistent.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain your private saved-video library
  • Save YouTube videos, notes, playlists, and transcript status
  • Generate summaries only when you explicitly request them
  • Track usage limits and subscription access
  • Improve the extension based on operational and anonymous usage patterns

3. Third-Party Services

AI Organizer uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

  • Supabase (Authentication and database): Stores account, library, usage, and entitlement data. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
  • OpenAI (AI summaries): Processes transcript and summary context only for explicit user-requested generation. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Inngest (Background jobs): Coordinates AI job execution and retry state.
  • Stripe (Payments): Processes subscription payments. We do not store your payment card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. Browser Permissions

The AI Organizer Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:

  • storage: To save your session, preferences, and extension state locally in your browser.
  • identity: To support secure sign-in flows.
  • sidePanel: To provide the native Chrome Side Panel interface.
  • Host permissions for YouTube: To show save controls on YouTube pages and read video metadata and available transcript information.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in these cases:

  • Payment Processing: Stripe processes payments on our behalf and has access to billing information you provide.
  • Service Operation: Supabase, OpenAI, Inngest, and Stripe process data required to provide the Service.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.
  • Anonymized Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics may be used for product improvement.

6. Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your data:

  • Authentication sessions are stored in Chrome extension storage
  • Privileged API keys are kept out of content scripts and browser pages
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS
  • Database access is protected with user-scoped authorization rules

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing activities

8. Cookies and Tracking

The AI Organizer extension does not use cookies. The website may use essential cookies for functionality and optional analytics cookies only where configured and permitted.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service:

  • Local browser data: Until you uninstall the extension or clear it manually
  • Account and library data: Until you delete your account or request deletion
  • Operational and analytics data: Retained only as needed for security, debugging, and product improvement

10. Children's Privacy

AI Organizer is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email, the website, or through the extension where appropriate.
